Built in 1870, the Ravens Grin Inn has been around long enough to become a bona fide haunted house. With some help from its owner, this Mount Carroll attraction brings in thousands of visitors each year. It is open daily from 7pm to midnight, with extra hours on Saturday and Sunday from 2pm to 5pm. The tours take about an hour to an hour-and-a-half. Special hide and seek parties are available to groups of 10 or more.

Scattered through downtown Ottawa are some murals created by local artists. The paintings depict the local history, from the Native Americans to the 19th century pioneers and into the 20th century. The murals are recommended by the Ottawa Visitors Center for a self-guided walking or driving tour. Maps are availabe at the office on Lafayette Street.

Amboy Pharmacy
Visitors in Amboy can check out the town's old pharmacy. This site features an old-fashioned soda fountain and furnishing to create atmosphere. It sells penny candy and milk shakes made with hand made flavors. The Amboy Pharmacy is open year-round from 6am to 6pm, Saturday from 8am to 5pm and Sunday from 10am to 2pm.

Belvidere City Murals
Sometimes referred to as Illinois' City of Murals, Belvidere has 15 different murals found throughout its downtown. Each mural has some historic value to it. More than 250 artists helped create the public art.

De Immigrant Dutch Windmill
De Immigrant Dutch Windmill was designed and partially constructed in the Netherlands before being shipped to Fulton. There it was rebuilt by Dutch millwrights and masons. The windmill sits on a dike in the city, with its sails generating enough power to produce a variety of flours, which are sold in the gift shop. It is open daily from June 1 to September 1, and on weekends in May and October.
