    Hegeler Park
    Hegeler Park is La Salle's largest park, encompassing facilities for swimming, playing baseball and softball, picnicking and playing a variety of sports like tennis, basketball and volleyball. The park has been part of the town since the early 1900s when it was donated by the Hegeler Family. Local events are often held in this area.

    Monument Park
    Located at the north end of Savanna's Main Street, Monument Park remembers the early days of the town. A monument stands on the site where the first white settlers, the Pierce family, erected a tepee to live in. Interpretive signs can be found, explaining the history of the area.

    Weber House and Garden

    Visitors to the Weber House and Garden can enjoy the unique decorations inside the house and the winding pathways through the gardens. The house was built in 1937 by Ernest and Zelma Weber. Personal tours of the house can be easily arranged.

    Skare Park

    A driving range, the Skare Homestead Museum, numerous trails for hiking or for horseback riding, picnic and barbeque sites and many other facilities can be found at Skare Park. This recreational area is located 4 mi (6.4 km) west of Rochelle on Flagg Road.

    Lions Park
    Lions Park is the largest park in Lena. As a popular family destination, this park has numerous picnic areas, gardens, sand areas, basketball courts, baseball diamonds and much more. Ice skating can be found here in the winter and a concession stand during the summer. Next door to Lions Park is the Splashland Family Water Park and a mini-golf course.

    Goose Lake Prairie State Natural Area

    Goose Lake Prairie State Natural Area acts as a refuge for many endangered birds, grasses and flowers. The area consists of marshy land because the early settlers drained the lake that once covered the land to clear more space for crops. Activities at Goose Lake Prairie include hiking on the numerous trails, picnicking or learning at the visitor center.

    Timer Ridge Gardens
    Timber Ridge Gardens is a nursery open to the public. It has 15 acres (6 ha) of land to display its flowers, shrubs and trees. People can visit the gardens seven days a week from 10am to 5pm, from April to October.

    Temperance Hill Cemetery and Prairie Preserve
    The Temperance Hill Cemetery and Prairie Preserve is found north of Amboy on Route 52. Local plants unique to the prairie area grow, including Indian grass and big bluestem. There is also a cemetery on the preserve property which dates back to 1848. Guests can walk through the park, look at the plants and animals living in the area and visit the historic cemetery..

    Mautino State Fish and Wildlife Area

    The Mautino State Fish and Wildlife Area near Sheffield offers fishing, hunting, boating and hiking facilities. Fifteen lakes are in the park, all of which are stocked with fish. Boat launches and canoe access points are found throughout the area.

    Franklin Creek State Natural Area

    The Franklin Creek State Natural Area boasts many natural and recreational areas for its guests to enjoy. The park takes up 644 acres (260 ha) and includes several natural springs, forested areas, picnicking facilities, hiking and horseback riding trails, fishing and limited hunting access and cross country skiing areas. The Franklin Creek Grist Mill is also found on the park property. It is located 1 mi (1.6 km) northwest of Franklin Grove, off of Illinois Route 38.

    Long's Garden

    From March to October, guests can enjoy the vegetation growing at Long's Garden. More than 1,500 varieties of plants and grasses are planted along pathways, including trees, perennials and ornamental grasses.     Lowden State Park

    Situated on 200 acres (80 ha) of land, the McCune Sand Prairie near Mineral offers visitors a example of the good and bad human use of these rare areas. Parts of the park has been overextended and many plants can no longer survive. In other areas prickly pear cacti, grasses, flowers and trees can be found growing from the sand. Trails for hiking in the summer and cross-country skiing in the winter wind through the prairie for public use.

    Rock Cut State Park

    Rock Cut State Park is open year-round and offers a range of activities and facilities. The 3,092-acre (1,250-ha) park boasts two lakes for visitors, Pierce Lake for fishing and Olson Lake Beach for swimming. There are campsites, trails for hiking, horseback riding and cross-county skiing, numerous picnic areas, playgrounds and a cafe. It is open daily, April to October from 6am to 10pm, and November to March from 8am to 5pm.
