    Heidecke Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area

    Adjacent to Goose Lake Prairie is the Heidecke Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area. Water sprawls over roughly 1,300 acres (525 ha) and is frequently stocked with bass. Anglers are encouraged to catch and release the fish. No other water sports are permitted on the lake. A boat launch area is on-site.

    Crystal Lake
    Crystal Lake is located in Rock Falls and boasts one of the largest beaches in Illinois. Visitors of the beach can swim, play volleyball, sunbath and picnic, among other activities.

    Fenwood Aquaculture
    The Fenwood Aquaculture area lets visitors enjoy and relax amidst nature by fishing in the creek, walking along the grassy trails, boating on the pond, picnicking beneath the trees or camping for an evening. Sleigh rides and carriage rides can be arranged by appointment. The center is open May through October, Thursday to Saturday starting at 8am. Appointments can be made for different hours during the off season.

    Pearl Lake

    Located in South Beloit, Pearl Lake boasts numerous activities on the land and in the water. There is a sandy beach and swimming areas for sunbathers to enjoy. The lake is also popular with scuba divers who come here to practice their skills before heading to bigger waters. Near the lake is a campground and a restaurant. The property is privately owned and a small fee is required for all visitors.

    Lake DePue State Park

    Lake DePue is home to fish, birds and wildlife and is a popular place for hunters, fishers and hikers. The lake is fed from a river and boasts walleye, sauger, bass, catfish, carp and many other species of fish. Waterfowl hunting is another popular past time. A park and camping facilities are found close to the lake.

    This 17-acre lake is used as a fishing lake and features several boat ramps for the convenience of visiting anglers. The park is located off of the South Beloit City Park.
