More than 150 mi (240 km) of trails are waiting to be explored at Hennepin Canal State Park. By the early 1900s the canal was completed, connecting the Mississippi, Illinois and Des Plaines rivers. Many historic locks and aqueducts are visible while on the trail, which is open to hikers, bikers, skiers and snowmobilers. Water activities including fishing, boating and canoing, as well as skating in the winter.
