Plano Castles & Stately Homes
The Farnsworth House isn't famous because of its age, but because of its unique design. The home is built of steel beams and glass walls, giving it the appearance of a square, human-sized fish bowl. It was built in 1951 by well-know architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe for Dr. Edith Farnsworth. From April to November, people can tour the house, which is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 3pm. Reservations are required.
