Ottawa Squares & Plazas
In 1858, the first debate between Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas was held in the city of Ottawa. Today Washington Park, where the historic discussion took place, is home to a commemorative statue of the debate, as well as many gardens, benches and picnic areas. At the end of July, many of the city's Riverfest activities are held here as well.
