Lock #14 was constructed in 1848 on the Illinois-Michigan Canal, which stems from Lake Michigan. The lock once stood where the canal met the Illinois River. It has been restored over the years and is a prime example the river locks used in the 19th century. It is located on Canal Road, near Route 351 on the south side of the town.
