Temperance Hill Cemetery and Prairie Preserve
The Temperance Hill Cemetery and Prairie Preserve is found north of Amboy on Route 52. Local plants unique to the prairie area grow, including Indian grass and big bluestem. There is also a cemetery on the preserve property which dates back to 1848. Guests can walk through the park, look at the plants and animals living in the area and visit the historic cemetery..
Mormon Cemetery
Amboy and the surrounding area was one of the first settlements of the Mormon Church. The town's Mormon Cemetery holds graves of numerous members of the Church of Latter Day Saints, including one of the wives of a prominent leader, Brigham Young. The site is found west of Amboy off Rockyford Road on Mormon Road.
