Grand Illinois Trail
Brief Description:
The Grand Illinois Trail runs through many counties of northern Illinois, stretching from Lake Michigan in Chicago east to Galena, south to Moline and back to Chicago. Many attractions, accommodations and other facilities are found along the road. Bikers should be aware that the surface changes throughout the path, from pavement to gravel, and mountain bikes are recommended for several parts of the trail.

Many of the access points to the Grand Illinois Trail are made of local trails in the cities along the trail route.
